On this screen you can set your normal search. Whenever you start the program, or whenever you go this screen and save your choices, these settings are sent to the "Search" screen itself. If you use the same search over and over again, once this screen is set you can just ΓÇ£LoadΓÇ¥ the words, ΓÇ£getΓÇ¥ the words, and start your work.
Difficulty
Each word can be assigned its own difficulty, or the program can assign it automatically based on how well you know it. With these buttons you tell FlashWorks to show those words whose difficulty is between the range you establish here.
Type
Each word can have one type such as "noun," verb," etc. Check the boxes for the types of words you wish to study.
Chapter
Some of the word lists are based on textbooks. This paramter allows you to study words that you are learning in specific chapters. If your word list is not based on a book, then there should be some number (e.g. "1") for the chapter for each word, and just make sure the range of chapters you enter here covers that number.
Frequency
I originally wrote this program for the study of biblical Greek and Hebrew. In these two cases, we know how many times each word occurs in the Bible and can use it as a search criteria. For example, show me all words that occur more than fifty times. As was true for chapters, if your word list does not have a frequency for each word, then you chould have some number saved with each word and be sure the range of frequencies here includes that number.
OK and Cancel
When you are done, click the [OKAY] button or press [RETURN] to save your changes. The search screen accessed under the FlashWorksΓäó menu will be updated with these new parameters. If you do not want to save the changes, click the [CANCEL] button, press the [ESCAPE] key, or click in the close box.
